“We are going to have to make multiple cuts, due to the gloomy state budget”
“I would like in the future to have a Masterplan for Faculty, yes we need to think about that!”
Fast forward to Pre-Accreditation Month

- new toilet seats in the women’s rooms
- new stainless steel partitions in the men’s room
- maintenance crews directed to clean every stone around the trees
- maintenance crews directed to paint the cracks on the “R” Building
- new signs stating PCC’s Commitment to Student Success only in the offices of Management
DID WE SUDDENLY HAVE A WINDFALL DR. KOSSLER?

PCC Faculty are committed to Excellence, IS MANAGEMENT? Hear the campus wide voices of discontent
|
“Part-Time Faculty at Pasadena City College is among the lowest paid in the state” PCC Board of Trustees Member Connie Castro
“It was suggested by management that we go to get help from the Foundation to raise money for social sciences speakers.”
The advice was: “go to the Shatford Library and copy down the names of the donors on the placards. Then you might have a match!” “Most of my fundraising has been for buildings” Grover Goyne, recently retired Foundation president and rehired consultant
“I don’t know how many times I have requested a pencil sharpener that works in my classroom”
“I was so enthused about my class that I wanted to discuss the material with the faculty member further. To my horror, I found out she is an adjunct and the college does not pay for office hours”
“The chalkboard in my classroom is so worn that you can see the wall through the board!”
“Will I ever get my map clips?”
“The Xerox machine is out of ink. The College can’t say when new cartridges will arrive”
“I was told at the beginning of the year that the college had new thermostats in every classroom so faculty could regulate the air. My classroom was freezing. I called facilities for assistance. The person laughed exclaiming “those thermostats don’t work!”
“One of my classrooms has a new VCR but no monitor. Another one of my classrooms has a monitor but not VCR!”
“We are expected to use videos with closed captions. We would love to comply! However, the monitors are so old, they don’t read close caption!”
“Do we have any cartridges for our office computer printers? Oh, you will have to go buy them yourself!”
