GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The next general membership meeting is slated for Thursday, November 29th at 12 noon in the Forum. This is an official call for items to be placed on the agenda. Submit them to the website at http://www.pro-faculty.net or send them to Secretary Suzanne Anderson by Tuesday, November 27th at 4:00 pm.
NEGOTIATIONS
Although PCC faculty is currently laboring without a valid contract, preliminary plans for negotiations are underway by your new CTA Bargaining team. Bargaining official began on Thursday, November 15th as the initial proposal will be sunshined (opening of ideas for general public comment) before the Board of Trustees on November 28th at 7:00 pm in the Circadian. Visit the website at http://www.pro-faculty.net to obtain a complete printout of the initial proposal. Bargaining will begin in earnest after the holidays. All items in the most recent contract will be open for new discussion with Roger Marheine, English, selected as lead negotiator. The entire team includes: Rod Foster, Communications; Suzanne Anderson, Social Sciences, Mabel Duncan, Community Education Center; and Jill Hazlett, Social Sciences.
PART-TIME SALARY FUNDING
PCC President James Kossler's signature is required by December 3rd in order for PCC to receive the $1,124,803 allotted by the state legislature for pat-time instructor salary increases. If President Kossler does not sign the request by December 3rd, the $1.1 will be lost to PCC and redistributed to other participating community colleges. The money is part of a $57,000,000. state budget allotment intended to raise the base slaray of the vast pool of community college adjunct faculty. The legislation is part of an ongoing program to eventually raise adjunct faculty salary to partiy with full-time faculty. MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
Our chapter has increased 11.5% due to both an increase in full-time members - (154 to 171) and increased part - time membership - (35 to 40). As a result of our increase membership, we will have an additional $1,500 to use to assist better represent you. Thanks to our new members. It is never too late to join.
